This sermon may also reference I Corinthians 7:21ff; Mark 9:33-37 and 10:43-45 as we examine how we are called to submit even to those who may or may not be righteous, but are in positions of authority over us. Both government authority and relationship between servants and masters will be addressed in this teaching. Based on politics as they are and our history of slavery in America, this sermon will be a great opportunity for 21st century believers to learn from our biblical ancestors who also dealt with government corruption and abuse and an economy based on servants and masters.
